The Sound

Velvet Guitars Fragment features the Mellow Baritone preset from the full Velvet Guitars library.

Tuned a fifth below a standard guitar, the instrument reaches into a deep register, while its extended scale length keeps the notes clear and defined.

Its sustain and mute articulations, together with the dedicated legato mode, provide the flexibility to create everything from sparse low lines and lush mid-range chords to expressive melodies in the upper register. Dedicated dead-note samples between C0 and C1 add rhythmic detail and realism.

Spacious and distinctive, Mellow Baritone is especially suited to mellow, cinematic and atmospheric music.

Amps and Real Spring Reverb

Blend between two real vintage amplifiers using the slider on the left. With carefully selected tubes and speakers, each amp brings its own distinctive tone and the authentic character of classic hardware.

Every sample was recorded four times: dry and with spring reverb through each of the two amps. This is not a modelled reverb, but the real thing, captured as part of the performance. It responds dynamically to how you play: push into it and the characteristic chirp of a real spring tank comes through, adding the kind of detail that is difficult to recreate with a plug-in.

Tremolo

Velvet Guitars Fragment includes the US 60s tremolo, meticulously recreated to stay true to the original hardware. Tremolo depth and speed are fully adjustable, with sync-to-host functionality for seamless integration into your workflow.
