Slower Fragment offers the warmth and cinematic character of the full version of Slower in a compact, free instrument with six expertly crafted presets. Four Tape Machine Types

The unique sound of Slower Fragment is rooted in the character of four meticulously selected tape machines.

  • Studio: Studer A812 and Revox PR99 – large open reel-to-reel machines known for their pristine, balanced sound.
  • Portable: Uher 4400 Report IC and Uher 4400 Report Monitor – small reel-to-reel machines that add warmth and subtle wow and flutter.
  • Cassette: Tascam Portastudio 424mkiii – standard cassette machine that brings a touch of vintage grit and typical cassette colouration.
  • Dictaphone: Sony M650v – micro cassette machine that delivers a lo-fi, lo-tech feel.

Each machine offers a unique sonic flavour, particularly at half speed, enabling you to select the perfect tape character for your sounds.

Six Presets

Slower Fragment features six expertly curated presets from the full version of Slower, each offering distinct tape‑worn textures and harmonic character — from a mellow, intimate piano and lush, evolving strings to airy, reedy wind instruments and gritty lo‑fi synth textures.

Together they provide a compact palette of cinematic beds, melodic support, and atmospheric color, all recorded to tape and pitched down at half speed for rich low‑end, stretched transients, and analog modulation ready to shape with the three macros.

Three Macro Controls

Three intuitive macro controls provide expressive ways to transform the presets and create your own unique sonic textures. Each macro controls multiple parameters – such as saturation and delay, space and brightness, or tape wobble and reverse textures – allowing a single knob to add warmth, enhance highs, or introduce evolving motion.

The macro controls empower you to quickly sculpt tone and atmosphere, from subtle coloration to dramatic, modulated soundscapes.
